    Hanuman is the prime devotee of Lord Rama. He is the embodiment of courage, strength and devotion. The Hanuman Chalisa is a collection of 40 verses by Saint Tulsidas, in which he talks about Hanuman’s devotion to Lord Rama, his courage, strength, appearance, His role in the Ramayana, and the need for His blessings to devotees. Chanting the Chalisa gives a lot of internal strength to the devotees and when chanting it 108 times in single day, the devotee has his wishes fulfilled. The Chalisa is written in such simple style, that even people who are new to this text find it easy to read or follow. Saturday at the temple please join in at least for a little while to read or chant this beautiful hymn along with other devotees, 1:00-7:00 pm.     Sunday, the ninth day of Vasantha Navarathri is celebrated as RamaNavami,the birthday Lord Rama.

    Sri Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu was born on Chaitra Masa, Shukla Paksha Navami, as a son of King Dasaratha in Ayodhya. Ramayana. the story of Lord Rama's life, speaks of the many stories of valour and courage in freeing the world of many demons and giving moksha to devotees who surrendered in soul to Him. He reperesented sacrifice, indomitable courage, honesty, and strength.

    It is practice to celebrate the wedding of Rama, 'the Soul' and Sita 'the mind'. When the we look inwards, meditate upon The One and completely surrender our thoughts and actions to Him, our mind will be freed from all material distractions and merge with the Supreme.
    The divine wedding will be held in the morning, with Pallaki seva in the evening. Devotees can play the role of parents of the divine couple. Performing the wedding at this special occasion of His birth brings many blessings to the family, including marital happiness and welfare of children.
