Upakarma means ‘the beginning.’ After a holy dip in a sacred river or pond or Tritha, people change the sacred thread and wear a new one. Symbolically the ritual means a new beginning.

Yajur Veda Upakarma is Wednesday, August 17.

Men can come at either 7 am or 8:30 am.

The Saivite upakarma will be in the homa kunda, and the Vaisvanite upakarma will be in the Community Hall.
