AADI KRITHIGAI
SUNDAY, AUGUST 1st: 5 – 7 PM
Temple Timings 5 pm – 8:30 pm
Aadi Krithigai is a special day for Subramanya Swamy. Lord Murugan was born as six forms from the spark of Lord Shiva. The Krithika star, a cluster of six stars, were summoned to care for the six baby forms. The six stars took human form and raised Lord Subramanya. Hence, Aadi Krithigai (Krithika star occurring during mid-July to mid-August) and Thai Krithigai (Krithika star occurring mid-Jan to mid-feb) is considered auspicious to worship Him.
On the auspicious occasion of Aadi Krithigai, devotees are invited to participate in Kavadi, Paalkudam, Abhishekam,Alangaram, and Archana for Lord Muruga.
At the temple, we will celebrate this day with  Abishekam to Subramanya Swamy. To have name and star included in the pooja register at AADI KRITHIGAI.
