Ratha Saptami, Fri, Jan 27 – Aruna Soura Parayanam, 10:30 am

Magha Masam is auspicious for the worship of the sun. Ratha Sapthami or Surya Jayanthi (the sun was born to Sage Kashyapa and Aditi), worshipping the Supreme as Lord Suryanarayana, is celebrated during this month.
The Sun is the sole source of light and heat to the world. His radiance not just sustains life on Earth but also holds the other planets in their orbits. It is the sun that controls the phenomenon of day and night, it is the sun that ushers in the seasons. Surya is thus considered the supreme ruler of the cosmos and the eternal witness.
At the temple, Priests chant Aruna Soura Parayanam at 10:30 am on Ratha Saptami day
