Traditionally Vishu Kani is arranged on front of the deities and everyone in the family sees this arrangement on waking up. It is believed to be an auspicious beginning to the day and year. Vishu Kani arrangement consists of fruits and vegetables, like cucumbers, jackfruit, betel buts, flowers, gold ornaments, rice arranged and decorated in front of a mirror.
