Karthika Masa is a very special period with great significance attached to the worship of the Divine. It also in some ways emphasizes
on the synchronization of nature and mankind. Traditionally worship of Shiva and Vishnu are considered very auspicious in this month. Bathing in holy rivers in pre-dawn hours, worship of Naga Devata, lighting diyas, especially on full moon day, vana bhojanam, are all prescribed customs followed during this month.
